Financial Statements
All UK companies, regardless of size, must submit annual accounts (financial statements) which will become part of the public record to facilitate transparency of trade. These accounts help demonstrate that your company is in good financial health and give the stakeholders a snapshot of its activities.
It is essential that these accounts are accurate and represent a true and fair picture of the company. They will also impact on the credit rating of the company which can impact supplier terms and bank facilities available so are of utmost importance.
How Affect will help you
While many of our corporate clients will ask Affect to prepare their financial statements to have everything in one place for sake of simplicity, we also work with clients who prepare their financial statements in-house or use a third-party accountant.

How do we work:
-
We liaise with the bookkeepers (may well be Affect) to obtain the underlying records for the year
-
We check these records are accurate by undertaking a series of reconciliations and verifying to primary documentation
-
We make any adjustments required such as for prepayments or accrued income
-
We liaise with the tax team to ensure the tax position in the accounts is accurate
-
We add notes to the accounts to make them easier to understand
-
We prepare a full set of accounts for management information and abridged accounts for filing at Companies House
-
We discuss the accounts and adjustments made with our clients to ensure a complete understanding
-
We help clients interpret trends and advise on ways to improve the business if requested.
